Shawano Police responded to a reported burglary at Shawano Health Services on South Lincoln Street just after midnight. Officers arrived within 15 minutes of dispatch. The caller alleged that “the owners are robbing the place”—police are still investigating.
At 8:20 AM, officers were called to 1320 East Lieg Avenue after a black backpack containing a bottle of vodka was discovered in a bush. Concerns were raised over potential drugs inside. Police identified a possible individual connected to the bag and are attempting to locate her.
Later in the morning, a traffic violation near County Road B involved a wheelchair user who claimed a tan sedan failed to yield at a crosswalk. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
In the afternoon, tensions rose at All Aboard Nutrition on South Main Street when a man with a large dog began arguing about camping and parking on the trail. He left before officers arrived.
Also that day, Goodwill Industries reported a shoplifting incident from back in May. Two female suspects allegedly stole a large tote filled with clothing valued at around $100. Photos and vehicle info were provided to police.
In other incidents, officers responded to an assault on Pearl Avenue, several welfare checks—including one involving concerns of child neglect—and an open-door call at Hope Community Baptist Church early Wednesday morning. Police cleared the building and secured the door.
Clintonville Police kept a close watch overnight and throughout the day, performing over a dozen business checks across Paulina Street, Main Street, and Madison Street, along with extra patrols at spots like Pickerel Point Playground and Memorial Circle.
Officers responded to two 911 calls—one from North Main and another on McKinley Avenue—though details remain limited.
On Hemlock Street, a string of ordinance violations and a traffic stop were followed by the report of an abandoned vehicle. Police were also active with traffic enforcement throughout the day, conducting multiple stops across Reinke Road, Highway 45, and Waupaca Street.
A welfare check was made on 6th Street in the early evening, and officers assisted another agency around North Main and Siegert.
Finally, a traffic hazard was reported late Tuesday night at Highway 22 and Commercial Avenue.
From crashes to calls for help, it was a full day for Shawano County deputies.
The day began just after midnight with a reckless driving incident on Highway 29 near St. Augustine Street. A silver Ford Focus was reported swerving and changing speeds erratically—officers caught up with the vehicle westbound and cited the driver accordingly.
Later in the morning, two disabled vehicles were reported along Highway 29, one near Witt-Morr Townline Road and another near Killdeer Road. Both were safely cleared.
Deputies assisted Mountain Bay Metro Police in Birnamwood after a failed attempt to fraudulently use a credit card for over $300 at Dollar General.
Midday, a disorderly conduct call came in from Balsam Lane in Shawano involving multiple victims. Just a half hour later, Wittenberg Middle School triggered a commercial fire alarm—fire crews and deputies responded, but no threat was found.
The afternoon brought a pair of courthouse security details, a deer-related traffic accident outside Doc’s Harley-Davidson, and a welfare check in Wittenberg triggered by a fall-detection device. Fortunately, no medical emergency was confirmed.
Deputies also investigated a trespassing complaint in Birnamwood where a known individual was allegedly taking items from a property—meth use was mentioned by the caller.
Into the evening, officers picked up two individuals with warrants from the Menominee Tribal Jail, responded to an ATV and dirt bike problem near Broadway Road, and assisted with yet another disabled vehicle—this time with a shredded tire in Marion.
And at 10:23 p.m., neighbors in Shawano called about a loud dispute—complete with chain sawing trees—prompting deputies to intervene.
