A quiet night turned active in Shawano as police responded to multiple incidents across the city.
At 1:30 a.m., an anonymous caller reported a suspicious couple near the Shawano Library. Officers arrived within minutes but found no cause for concern. The scene was cleared by 1:47 a.m.
Later that morning, around 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance on South Sawyer Street. That situation remains active as investigators continue to follow up.
At 9:53 a.m., probation officers requested police. Later in the afternoon, a concerning call reported an intoxicated man driving to his ex-wife’s home with their 4-year-old child. Police located the man at the residence on Friendship Road. He was allegedly intoxicated and had reportedly twisted the caller’s arm. That case remains under review.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a woman reported that someone entered her garage and went through her vehicle overnight. Small items were taken. Police have increased patrols in the area.
And finally, at Shawano Health Services just after midnight, officers responded to reports of a burglary. The complainant accused the property owners themselves of robbing the premises. That investigation is ongoing.
Clintonville Police reported It was a relatively quiet day for law enforcement, with officers conducting a series of routine business checks throughout the early morning hours — including stops on Club House Drive, Green Tree Road, and Industrial Avenue.
Multiple extra patrols were also carried out across town, with a visible police presence on South Main, Elm Street, and North Clinton Avenue, aiming to ensure community safety.
Several traffic stops took place during the day, most notably at West and Madison Streets and Harriet and Pearl. A traffic hazard was also reported near Highway 45 and Reinke Road.
Officers responded to two ordinance violations on South Clinton, a welfare check on Robert Street, and a lockout on North Main. They also assisted the sheriff’s office at South Main and 7th.
In addition, a mental health call came in from East Morning Glory Drive.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wave of incidents throughout the area yesterday — including multiple reports of reckless driving, animal bites, and public disturbances.
In the early morning hours, two individuals were cited for disorderly conduct at the Shawano County Jail. Just hours later in Tigerton, deputies provided a lift assist for a 76-year-old man who had fallen at home. No injuries were reported.
Reckless driving kept law enforcement busy with at least five reports across the county. One driver, was spotted hauling wood at high speed on Highway 29. Later, a silver Jeep weaving dangerously was reported to both Shawano and Marathon County authorities.
Animal-related calls also surged. A Clintonville woman reported being attacked by a neighbor’s dog, resulting in injuries. Two separate dog bite cases later in the day sent victims to local emergency rooms — including a minor in Pulaski.
Vehicle issues clogged roadways with several disabled and abandoned cars, including a minivan involved in a deer strike overnight. Multiple repossessions were also executed throughout the county by recovery agencies.
And in Wittenberg, a suspicious man inside a Dollar General reportedly attempted to trade his food assistance benefits for cash, raising concerns from staff.
