It was a busy Saturday for the Shawano Police Department, with a string of incidents across the city. Early Sunday morning around 2 a.m., police pulled over a male at South Washington and West Division. Officers say he was driving with a revoked license tied to a previous OWI, and was also under an absolute sobriety order related to an open court case. Shortly after, officers responded to a disturbance outside Sharona’s Bar, where a man was reportedly yelling in the street. Though he mentioned an altercation, he declined to press charges. Later, around 3:40 a.m., police were called to East Elizabeth and South Main for a suspicious person. Officers chased a man running through the skate park, but no arrests were reported. In the afternoon, emergency crews responded to two medical calls—one involving a man vomiting blood, and another reporting a woman feeling light-headed. A vehicle crash at Green Bay and Main involved two cars—a silver Buick and a maroon van. No major injuries were reported, but the investigation is ongoing. Officers also addressed complaints of juveniles throwing objects at a home on South Andrews Street, and a dog left outside during a storm, crying and frightened. Police made multiple welfare checks and assisted other law enforcement agencies throughout the day, including at Birch Hill Care Center and various downtown intersections.
Clintonville Police kept a watchful eye on the community with a steady stream of patrols and responses throughout the city. The day began just after midnight with a series of business checks across Club House Drive, Industrial Avenue, and County Highway I—part of routine overnight safety monitoring. By early morning, officers provided extra patrols near W. Green Tree Road schools and at popular outdoor spots, including Pigeon Lake’s boat launches and Picnic Point. Police responded to a disorderly conduct report near W. Green Tree Road shortly before 1 p.m., and conducted traffic stops at South Main and Highway 45. Several citizen assists followed throughout the afternoon. In the evening, a stray animal was reported on South Clinton Avenue, and police helped with a child custody matter on 6th Street. Extra patrols continued through the night, including checks near Memorial Circle, West 13th Street, and 16th Street.
Busy roads, suspicious activity, and a death investigation kept Shawano County deputies on high alert this past Saturday. The day started just before 2 a.m. when deputies responded to a pedestrian incident on Highway 29 and County Road K involving a Shawano woman. Moments later, a 23-year-old from Shawano was cited for reckless driving near East Green Bay Street. At 4 a.m., another reckless driver was stopped near mile marker 232 on Highway 29. A short time later, deputies picked up an individual on an outstanding warrant on South Main Street. Throughout the morning, multiple traffic hazards were reported, including dead deer on the highway and a suspicious person near an Amish plant store. Several abandoned 911 calls were also investigated. One of the more serious calls came at 10:58 a.m., when deputies performed a welfare check in Bonduel. A woman reported domestic violence and threats made against her pet during a heated altercation. Later, reports included a suspicious vehicle near the Mountain Bay Trail, a domestic property dispute involving damaged electronics, and a drug case near Leopolis. The most somber moment of the day came at 8:11 p.m., when authorities launched a death investigation at a residence on Highway 45 in Tigerton. No foul play has been confirmed at this time. And finally, a series of traffic incidents and abandoned 911 calls wrapped up a hectic 30-call day for the Sheriff’s Office.
