It was a busy day for Shawano police, starting just after midnight when officers responded to a disorderly conduct report on South Franklin Street. A man was seen throwing garbage cans around the neighborhood. Multiple units responded, and an arrest was made.
A few hours later, around 3 a.m., officers investigated suspicious yelling near South Hamlin and East Randall. No immediate threats were found, but police did detain individuals for questioning.
In a separate incident, a welfare check behind the Shawano Plaza found two individuals sleeping in a white SUV. Officers identified them and ensured their well-being before clearing the scene.
Later that morning, a suspected burglary on South Union Street raised alarms. Blood stains were found at the scene, though nothing appeared to be missing. Investigation is ongoing.
At Charlie’s County Market, police investigated a shoplifting incident and later returned for a separate bail jumping case. The suspect remains under investigation.
In other reports, a fraud case cost a local resident over $6,000 due to forged checks. Officers also helped a man suffering a seizure on South Franklin, and recovered a stray Pomeranian near Lincoln Street—thankfully returned home safe.
And finally, one of the more unusual calls—someone stole 10 tomato plants from the community garden on South Water Street. Police are increasing patrols in the area.
Clintonville Police Officers were busy throughout the day conducting a series of business checks across Bennett Street, 6th Street, and South Main Street in the early morning hours. Traffic enforcement was a priority as well, with multiple stops made on streets including North and South Main, Walnut, Bennett, and West Madison.
At 5:25 a.m., a traffic stop occurred at South Main and Camelia Avenue, followed by several more throughout the day—including one at Highway 45 and Neitzke Road just before 1 p.m.
Police also responded to a 911 call on North Main, an animal nuisance complaint on Flora Way, and assisted other agencies on North 12th and East Prospect Avenue. Additionally, extra patrols were requested on Walnut Street and later in the evening on Memorial Circle.
In Shawano County, law enforcement responded to a total of 34 incidents on Tuesday, May 28th — ranging from welfare checks and traffic hazards to a late-night death investigation.
The day began just after midnight with deputies assisting on South Franklin Street in Shawano after reports of a man throwing garbage cans. By sunrise, multiple calls came in, including a found iPhone, disabled vehicles, and a criminal damage complaint at a storage site in Wittenberg — where tire tracks and camera footage suggest multiple vehicles tore up the property.
One notable welfare check at 7:14 a.m. involved claims of poisoning and past abuse — prompting ongoing involvement from the Department of Human Services.
In Wittenberg, a harassment call was logged at True North business. An ex-employee, known to carry a firearm in a backpack, had reportedly been harassing a female staff member.
Reckless driving was a theme throughout the afternoon and evening, including reports near school zones and on major highways. One report described a red Chevy Colorado swerving across lanes on Highway 45, bearing state-issued plates.
In the most serious incident of the day, a death investigation was opened just before midnight at a residence on Cloverleaf Lake Road in Clintonville. Authorities have not yet released details on the deceased.
Elsewhere, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department logged seven incidents, including a theft report on Camp 14 Road and property damage involving a broken door.
