It was a busy Tuesday for the Shawano Police Department with over two dozen incidents logged.
Early in the morning, officers responded to a trespassing call at 123 East Elizabeth Street. Two suspects were identified at the scene. No injuries were reported.
Just after 9 a.m., police investigated a mysterious 911 call at a cell tower on Waukechon Street. The call disconnected and nothing suspicious was heard, but officers still conducted a welfare check.
Later in the morning, officers were dispatched to Charlie’s County Market after a man reported being threatened. The suspect, was interviewed at the scene.
In a separate incident around 11:30 a.m., a missing juvenile was safely returned to his mother after wandering from a local library.
Reckless driving was also a concern. Officers tracked a red Chevy truck reportedly spinning tires and speeding near Green Bay Street and Walmart. A second reckless driver was spotted hours later making dangerous U-turns near Lincoln Street.
And in a more heartwarming note, police were called to Walmart for a child locked in a car. Thankfully, the mother was able to regain access before officers arrived.
Later that evening, a fluffy brown stray dog was spotted following customers at Charlie’s County Market. Officers safely removed the animal.
The day wrapped up with several welfare checks, a domestic disturbance, and a disorderly conduct call involving a man throwing garbage cans on South Franklin Street.
The Clintonville Police Department was busy. Officers, who handled nearly 30 calls ranging from routine patrols to emergency responses.
The day began early with multiple business checks on South Main and 9th Street, including a report of an open door just after 4 a.m. Officers confirmed the premises were secure.
Around 3:30 a.m., ambulance crews responded to a medical emergency on Country Club Drive. Two more ambulance calls came in later—one on Petunia Circle at 5:44 p.m., and another at 11:45 p.m. on Brent Street.
Several traffic stops were conducted throughout the day, including near Green Tree Road, Highway D, and downtown intersections. Police also assisted the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office on two separate occasions.
Other notable calls included a vehicle crash on East 14th Street, multiple 911 hang-ups, and lost property reports from 7th and 16th Streets.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a variety of incidents on Tuesday, May 27th, with over two dozen calls for service.
The day began early, just after 5 a.m., when a vehicle hit a deer near Highway 45 and Breitrick Road in Tigerton. No injuries were reported.
Later that morning, deputies responded to a trespassing report in Tigerton. A resident reported someone moving surveillance cameras in the middle of the night. The incident was resolved without arrest.
At 10:30 a.m., a reckless driver was spotted swerving on Highway 29 near Redwood
In Bonduel, a resident reported suspicious behavior involving a plastic package being retrieved from roadside brush. Deputies are continuing to investigate that case.
A unique call came in around 4:15 p.m. near the Shawano airport, where construction workers were reported fishing from a bridge while blocking the road – despite posted signs prohibiting such activity.
Later in the day, a warrant arrest was made in Cecil near Highway 22. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
And just before 8 p.m., a delivery worker was bitten by a dog in Shawano while making rounds. The victim was treated at a local clinic, and the dog’s owner has been identified.
In Gresham, Stockbridge-Munsee police responded to a report of a pit bull attacking another dog. No injuries were reported, and the dog’s owner was located.
