Mark J. Dillenburg, age 62 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, surrounded by his loving family. He had fought a valiant battle
against cancer for the past twelve years. Mark was born in Shawano on June 2, 1962, the son of Gerald Dillenburg and the late Judy (Rades) Dillenburg. He attended Shawano schools graduating from Shawano High School with the Class of 1980. Following high school, Mark attended UW-Platteville. On June 1, 1985, he married Becky Redmond at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham. Following their marriage the couple lived in Shawano where they raised their family. For over 32 years, Mark worked for the Park and Recreation Dept. for the City of Shawano until
retiring in 2018. His faith meant everything to him. Mark was a good and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he ushered with his family crew. He was very involved with the youth in the community, coaching grade school basketball, middle school football, little league, high school baseball, and Legion baseball. Mark was fortunate to have coached his daughter’s softball teams and was the “quality control” coach for his son, Tyler. In 2019 Mark was inducted into the Shawano High School Athletic Hall of Fame, which was quite an honor. He was an umpire for over 32 years, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bird watching, and his dogs. Mark was an avid fan of the Brewers, Packers, Badgers, and NASCAR. He cherished the time he had with his family.
