SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano School District will officially break ground on a series of major facility improvement projects next week, marking the next phase in the district’s long-term investment in education.
The groundbreaking ceremony is set for Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 4 p.m. at Olga Brener Intermediate School, located at 1300 S. Union St. in Shawano.
The projects — which include upgrades to Olga Brener Intermediate, Hillcrest Primary, and Shawano Community Middle School — are part of the district-wide improvements approved by voters in a November 2024 referendum.
District officials, along with representatives from Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc., will speak during the event.
Adding a student-led touch, members of Shawano Community Middle School’s News Nest will emcee the event, and music will be provided by the Middle School Band.
Attendees are encouraged to use available parking at Zion Lutheran Church on South Union Street. Additional street parking will be available along the south side of East Ridlington Avenue, as well as South Union Street, South Evergreen Street, Robin Lane, and School Court.
