SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano Park and Recreation Department’s gym equipment auction officially wrapped up Wednesday after nearly a month of open bidding.
The silent auction, which ran from April 16 through May 15, drew strong interest from local residents and fitness enthusiasts looking to upgrade their home gyms or pick up commercial-quality equipment at a discount.
From dumbbells and weight plates to various machines and accessories, all items were sold “as is”, with winners contacted after bidding closed at noon on Wednesday.
Winners are now scheduled to pick up their items between May 19 and 21, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shawano Recreation Center. Payment is due at the time of pickup and includes applicable taxes.
Organizers say they were pleased with the turnout and community engagement, noting that the auction was open to everyone and helped clear out space at the facility while giving old equipment a second life.
For more information or future sales, residents are encouraged to contact the Parks & Rec Department at 715-526-6171 or visit the City of Shawano website.
