Shawano Police Officers were active across the city with a range of calls, beginning early with welfare checks at ThedaCare Medical Center, and again later at a local nursing facility.
At just before 7 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious activity report on West 3rd Street. Shortly after, a motor home parked too long on Valley Lane drew complaints.
Before noon, police handled a reckless driving call on Highway 47, a disabled vehicle on County Road BE, and assisted Unity Hospice in helping a resident transfer to a hospital bed. A funeral escort was also provided by midafternoon.
One notable incident involved the theft of prescription medication, including narcotics, from an apartment on South Main. Elsewhere, a stray German shepherd caused concern on South Andrews Street, and a young black lab mix wandered into a garage on South Lincoln.
Police also addressed two reckless driving complaints, a 911 smartwatch SOS call, and a death investigation, details of which have not been released.
In other reports, a restraining order violation was investigated, and officers responded to an illegal burning call that was ultimately deemed safe and within city code.
Evening activity included a suspicious vehicle investigation on Bartlett Street, recovered property, a noise complaint from Sturgeon Park that “shook the house,” and a vehicle repossession just after 5 a.m. Tuesday.
In Clintonville It was a busy day of routine patrols and community safety. Officers conducted over a dozen business checks overnight and early morning, covering areas like East 12th Street, Main Street, and Industrial Court.
A stray animal was reported on McKinley Avenue just after 2 a.m., and a disabled vehicle was handled on South Main before sunrise.
Later in the day, officers responded to a medical call on 15th Street and helped with two vehicle lockouts, one on East 2nd and another on 15th.
Extra patrols were logged around Green Tree Road and Memorial Circle, with school zone presence noted in the morning hours.
Police also addressed three 911-related calls, including one misdial and two open-line incidents on Enterprise and Industrial Avenue.
Finally, multiple traffic stops were initiated throughout the day, including one just before 11 p.m. on South Main Street.
Shawano County Law Enforcement started early at 1:42 a.m. when deputies arrested a male for suspected OWI near Waukechon Street and East Green Bay Street.
About an hour later, officers responded to a burglar alarm on Koonz Lake Lane, No entry was made, and keyholders were contacted.
Throughout the day, deputies handled three separate fraud cases. One involved $400 withdrawn from a Bonduel resident’s bank account. Another came from a scam call impersonating a bank, targeting a woman in Shawano. A third case involved suspicious bond payments reported by a Bowler man.
Reckless driving was a recurring theme, including complaints in Pulaski where a driver was allegedly speeding past a school zone. Two kids were also reported popping wheelies on four-wheelers along County Road M.
Deputies responded to several 911 hang-ups and accidental dials, along with welfare checks. One in Bowler involved a caller reporting drones and illegal surveillance. Another check in Cecil was triggered by a running lawn mower next to an unoccupied wheelchair—raising concern for the disabled homeowner.
There were also reports of stray animals, including a black lab creating a traffic hazard in Eland, and a dog bite report passed along from Marathon County.
And finally, in Clintonville, a woman reported repeated threatening calls despite a no-contact order. Deputies logged the incident as bail jumping.
