The Shawano Police department responded to a variety of incidents across the city, starting early in the morning with a welfare check at 725 South Main Street. A man reported his friend might have been having a stroke after a concerning phone call at 3 a.m. Officers responded and completed the check within 30 minutes.
At dawn, two stray dogs were found wandering near a truck at Jaycee Court Dog Park. A quick-thinking citizen secured them safely until officers arrived.
Shortly after 7 a.m., officers were dispatched to Charlie’s County Market where a man previously trespassed had returned. Police identified and addressed the individual on scene.
By midmorning, officers responded to multiple calls, including illegal dumping on Wescott Avenue and a medical assist on Robin Lane, which involved emergency ambulance coordination.
Later in the day, tensions rose at Lincoln School Apartments, where officers responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a physical altercation and a six-month-old child.
In total, officers handled over two dozen calls, ranging from trespassing, theft, and drug-related investigations, to 911 hang-ups and juvenile issues.
One arrest was made by Probation and Parole, and a separate bail jumping incident was reported, allegedly violating probation by drinking.
And finally, around 9 p.m., officers assisted Safe Haven with the difficult task of removing children from a mother’s custody—a tense and emotional situation still under review.
Clintonville Police Officers conducted multiple overnight business checks on North Main Street and County Highway I to ensure everything was secure. A suspicious activity call early in the morning on SSGT Warren Hansen Drive was investigated, along with a request for extra patrol on Anne Street.
School safety remained a focus with patrols on West Green Tree Road and 20th Street. Officers also responded to several lost and found cases across North Main, 19th Street, and South Main.
A welfare check was performed on North Main, and family-related concerns were reported on Hughes Street. A vehicle crash on South Main drew emergency response around 5:40 p.m., while another call came in shortly after for illegal burning on Wilson Street.
Other notable incidents included citizen assistance, agency support on 15th Street, and an ambulance call to North Clinton Avenue. Officers wrapped up the day with traffic stops and routine patrol on Memorial Circle.
It was a busy day for the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, logging 38 incidents over a 24-hour period.
Overnight, a transport was completed from Brown County for a juvenile hearing. Deputies also performed multiple welfare checks, including one prompted by a concerned father from the county jail seeking information about his children in Green Bay.
Just before 6 a.m., a male turned himself in at the jail on an outstanding warrant. Later in the morning, deputies responded to an abandoned vehicle in Wittenberg. Due to a child support lien, local wreckers refused to tow it.
Traffic violations were frequent, including a high-speed motorcycle escape in Bonduel, and a near miss involving a truck and school bus. Reckless driving complaints were made throughout the day, including one from a business owner in Cecil alarmed by unsafe driving near his storefront.
A notable incident at the Shawano County Jail involved an inmate assault. Two teens were involved in a fight around 3 p.m.
Assaults weren’t limited to the jail. A disturbance between two residents was reported at Homme Home in Wittenberg that evening, though no ambulance was needed.
Deputies also handled fraud complaints, welfare checks related to missing persons, and a drunk driving arrest just after 7 p.m.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police logged two calls: one for a fire assist in Gresham and another for trespassing near Spur Road.
