The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 24 incidents throughout the day, ranging from routine welfare checks to a high-speed pursuit.
At 8:18 a.m., a vehicle fire was reported on County Road A in Bowler. Both the Shawano County Sheriff and Stockbridge-Munsee Police responded to assist.
Later, around 1:30 p.m., deputies were called to N4376 County Road K for a burglary in progress. A homeowner reported drawers rummaged through and money missing—investigation is active.
In traffic-related calls, multiple reckless driving reports were logged throughout the day—including an alarming pursuit just after 10 p.m., where speeds reached over 100 miles per hour on Highway 47 near Gresham. The suspect eventually fled the area, and the case is under continued review.
Additionally, deputies assisted with three separate welfare checks, one involving a young woman seen walking erratically along Moh He Con Nuck Road, and another involving a missed medical transport in Tilleda.
And finally, a 911 call just before noon led to a medical response outside Shawano County, showing the cross-county coordination still active in emergencies.
In Clintonville on May 1st, police logged a total of 19 incidents, mostly focused on keeping the community safe through overnight patrols and business checks.
The day began just after midnight with a series of routine business checks along South Main Street and surrounding areas, continuing well into the early morning. Officers also provided extra patrols on 15th Street, Anne Street, and later in the evening on Memorial Circle—part of ongoing efforts to deter overnight crime.
At 12:30 a.m., an ambulance was dispatched to West 13th Street, though further details on the medical call were not released.
In more serious reports, police responded to a commercial alarm on South Main just before noon, and later in the day at 3:30 p.m., a tobacco-related issue was reported on 20th Street.
A theft on Hemlock Street followed around 5:00 p.m., and by 8:30 p.m., officers were conducting a welfare check on North Main.
Shawano police had a busy day and night on Wednesday, responding to a wide range of incidents — from bar fights to hit-and-runs, and more.
Just after midnight, officers were called to Sharonas Bar on South Washington Street for a fight in progress. Multiple units responded, and the scene was cleared by 1 a.m. No arrests have been confirmed, and the caller chose to remain anonymous.
Later in the evening, around 7 o’clock, officers were dispatched to the Taco Bell on East Green Bay Street after a customer reported their vehicle was struck in a hit-and-run. Police took statements, but no suspects have been identified yet.
Throughout the day, officers assisted with several medical calls, handled two separate vehicle lockouts, responded to a harassment report, and took a call about suspicious pizza deliveries on South Hamlin Street — reportedly sent to a home that didn’t order them.
Police also addressed an ongoing animal complaint involving two dogs and yard debris on East Maurer Street, responded to a protective custody case, and investigated a criminal damage complaint involving nails left in a driveway at Charlie’s County Market.
In addition, a suspicious red pickup truck was reported near a townhouse complex, and a commercial burglary alarm at Dreier Pharmacy turned out to be a false alert.
And finally, officers helped a homeless individual seeking shelter and responded to a found BMX bike at the McDonald’s parking lot.
