CLINTONVILLE, WI- Spectators at Don Jirschele Stadium will soon enjoy a new way to watch games, thanks to a project approved by the Clintonville Common Council on April 8.
A two-level deck, proposed by the Clintonville Athletic Club (CAC), will be built near the home dugout at the stadium in W.A. Olen Park. The deck, named Don’s Deck in memory of longtime community figure Don Jirschele, will offer fans an elevated view of the field while allowing them to bring their own foldable chairs.
The structure will be about 32 feet long and 12 feet wide, with stairs on both ends and safety railings surrounding the perimeter. The front end will stand roughly three feet off the ground, gradually rising to about five feet at the rear. Designed with accessibility in mind, the city is requiring further discussion with the CAC to explore adding features like a handicap-accessible ramp.
