It was a busy day for the Shawano Police Department on April 29th, with officers responding to a range of incidents across the city. Early in the morning, police assisted a mother who was locked out of her vehicle on West 4th Street. Soon after, a large tree branch blocking traffic outside Evergreen Care Center prompted officers to call in city crews for removal.
In another incident, officers responded to a report of an injured eagle on East Lieg Avenue. The bird was safely retrieved with help from multiple responders. The day also saw several traffic hazards, including confusion caused by misaligned construction signs and a “tiny home” being backed into a lot, slowing down traffic at a busy intersection.
A rock was reported thrown through a living room window on West Wescott Avenue late in the evening while the residents were in bed. Officers were also called to Memorial Park after a group of juveniles was seen with what appeared to be a BB or paint gun in a backpack.
Meanwhile, officers were dispatched twice to the same location on River Heights for commercial alarms, including one at the Shawano Pawn Shop showroom just after 3 a.m. That followed an earlier alarm just after 1 a.m. in the same area.
Other notable calls included a stray dog near Oshkosh Street, a reckless driver in a red Silverado, and several juvenile-related concerns throughout the day. Police also assisted with medical and fire calls, probation checks, and even helped file a suspicious jury duty phone scam.
In Clintonville, a steady stream of police activity kept officers busy throughout the day on April 29th. The department responded to multiple calls, including two ambulance assists—one on 18th Street and another on West Morning Glory Drive. Officers also assisted with a mental health incident early in the morning at the same location.
A stray animal was reported on Harriet Street, followed later by an animal complaint on East Morning Glory Drive. Patrols were visible around schools, with extra coverage on West Green Tree Road and Anne Street. Officers conducted a total of six traffic stops across the city, including along South Main Street, North 12th Street, and 8th Street.
The department also responded to a 911 call on South Main, checked on local businesses, and followed up on an alarm in the evening. Clintonville police maintained their presence well into the night with foot patrols and additional area checks,
In Shawano County on April 29th, law enforcement was kept busy with a flurry of calls, ranging from traffic hazards and reckless driving to more serious incidents like disturbances and a warrant arrest.
One of the first incidents of the day occurred just before 1 a.m., when deputies responded to a traffic hazard on Maplewood Road where a large tree was reported blocking the road. A short time later, another tree downed a power line on Oriole Road, knocking out power. Crews from the utility company were already on-site and worked quickly to restore service.
Meanwhile, around 1:20 a.m., authorities were called to South Town Line Road for reports of a vehicle doing repeated burnouts. That vehicle eventually ended up stuck in a ditch, and reckless driving was confirmed.
Throughout the morning, the sheriff’s office handled multiple traffic-related calls including deer collisions and disabled vehicles. At 10 a.m., a personal injury crash on Highway 29 near Tigerton sent emergency responders rushing to the scene, although details on injuries have not yet been released.
Later in the day, a man voluntarily turned himself in at the Shawano County Jail on a warrant. And in Aniwa, a woman reported a trespasser—possibly a family member—in a black SUV with Minnesota plates entering her property without permission.
Other calls included a reported disturbance on Basswood Road where a man was allegedly threatening someone, several 911 calls, and a motion alarm triggered at a Clintonville business just before midnight.
