OUTAGAMIE COUNTY- Roadwork is set to begin Monday on County Highway Z in the Town of Buchanan, kicking off just after the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft festivities in Green Bay.
The project will cover the stretch of Highway Z between County Highway ZZ and Outagamie Road, east of Kaukauna near the Outagamie-Brown County line. Construction is expected to last through October.
Motorists should prepare for traffic changes:
- County Highway Z will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project. Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses within the construction zone.
- A marked detour will guide drivers along Brown County Highway D, Outagamie County Highway CE, and State Highway 55.
- In addition, Brown County plans to close the intersection of County Highway D and County Highway Z for about a month during the project. An alternate detour will be in place at that time.
Outagamie County officials say the project is necessary due to the aging road surface, which is nearing the end of its lifespan. Crews will also address steep slopes that no longer meet modern safety standards and improve drainage along the corridor.
