The Shawano Police Department responded to a variety of incidents on Sunday. At 2:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to North Main Street for an OWI involving alcohol or drugs; a subject was taken into custody. Later in the morning, a vandalism complaint was reported on West Wescott Avenue where a resident alleged repeated property damage by downstairs neighbors.
Around 9:30 a.m., officers conducted a welfare check at East Ridlington Avenue involving multiple units and EMS. A stray German Shepherd was picked up shortly after and transported to the humane society.
In the afternoon, an anonymous caller reported a reckless driver on a mini bike near Sawyer and Center Streets. Officers responded but were unable to locate the suspect. A found wallet containing $41 was turned in near Washington and Hill Streets and returned to its owner.
That evening, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on West Richmond Street involving a custody dispute, followed by a warrant arrest at Walmart on East Green Bay Street involving a subject with an open felony case.
Finally, a noise complaint at a South Main Street apartment led to officers investigating a persistent alarm.
Clintonville Police had a busy Sunday with a strong focus on traffic enforcement. Officers conducted over a dozen traffic stops throughout the day, with locations including Highway 45, West Madison Street, and North 12th Street.
Early morning activity included several stops and an extra patrol on Anne Street at 6 a.m. Midday, officers responded to an animal nuisance complaint on North Main Street and conducted foot patrols around Memorial Circle.
Later in the day, a welfare check was performed on South Main Street, and officers investigated a suspicious vehicle on Wilson Street around 10:50 p.m. Just before midnight, an ordinance violation was reported on East 12th Street, followed by a traffic offense near North Main and 16th Street.
It was a busy day for Shawano County deputies, who responded to 30 incidents on Sunday.
The day began just after midnight with a fight in progress on South Warrington Avenue, followed shortly by a probation violation in Tigerton. Officers also dealt with a suspected attempted vehicle break-in near County Road A and made an OWI arrest around 1:30 a.m.
Throughout the day, deputies handled several welfare checks, animal complaints, and 911 calls, including a vicious dog attack and a stray dog roaming the fairgrounds. Multiple reports of reckless driving came in from around the county, with drivers passing unsafely and racing mini bikes in residential areas.
In Aniwa, a catalytic converter theft was reported from an RV, and in Shawano, a woman found a purse containing cash and personal items during her morning run.
Deputies also investigated a threatening incident involving an alleged gun sale, responded to several traffic hazards including fallen branches and scattered trash, and provided assistance to local fire departments in Pulaski and Tigerton.
The evening wrapped up with disturbance calls, suspicious activity, and a report of custodial interference in Shawano.
