In the early morning hours, Shawano officers assisted other law enforcement agencies with two highway incidents on Highway 29, including a vehicle reportedly traveling at speeds fluctuating between 60 and 90 miles per hour. Multiple units responded, and the incident remains under active investigation.
Shortly after 3:40 a.m., officers conducted an extra patrol near Parkside Apartments after a resident reported being followed by a white sedan from a local Kwik Trip. Police increased their presence in the area through the morning.
Later that morning, officers responded to two separate vehicle lockouts—one at Kwik Trip and another at the Washerette on Green Bay Court. In both cases, access was successfully regained without incident.
Around 9:50 a.m., a stray animal was reported near the Shawano Ski Sharks location on Riverside Drive. Officers were on scene within minutes.
In the afternoon, a large piece of glass was found in an intersection at Valley Lane and Prospect Circle, reported to have fallen off a truck and trailer. The hazard was quickly removed.
A more concerning call came in just before 5 p.m., when a 5-year-old girl was seen walking alone in the rain on Green Bay Street. Officers located her safely and followed up on the welfare check.
At 5:30 p.m., officers investigated a suspicious activity call on Highway 22 involving potential drug possession. Two individuals were questioned, and items were reportedly traced back to a local establishment.
Later, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Shawano police executed a warrant attempt at Walmart. Officers confirmed the subject of the warrant was in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Multiple units were involved in the operation, and the case remains active.
The day closed with officers responding to noise complaints and another welfare check, ending a steady stream of calls and community support.
Clintonville Police Department reported their day began just after midnight with a traffic stop at North Main and 18th Street, followed by an animal problem reported on West 14th. Overnight, officers remained active with foot patrols on Anne Street, a business check on West 13th, and a welfare check on South Clinton Avenue.
At 2:47 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle crash on East 12th Street. No injuries were reported.
Throughout the day, officers conducted extra patrols, responded to stray animal calls, and investigated a suspicious person on North 12th Street.
A series of traffic stops took place across town, including at Highway 22, Highway 156, and Main Street. One incident at Highway 156 was noted as suspicious.
In the afternoon, police responded to a theft on Wilson Street, and later provided assistance at the intersection of Highways 45 and 54.
By day’s end, patrols remained vigilant, with final traffic stops taking place near South Main and West 2nd just after 11 p.m.
Shawano County Deputies were kept busy throughout the day, responding to a mix of traffic issues, emergency calls, and public concerns across the county.
The early morning began with a string of disabled vehicles, including one reported in a ditch near Cecil and another involving an old ambulance left overnight. By 3:21 a.m., a reckless driving complaint came in—officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 29 that had been speeding and slowing erratically between Bonduel and Shawano.
Just before 5 a.m., deputies assisted a stranded driver who had a popped tire and couldn’t remove the lug nuts. That was followed by a property damage crash near Big Lake Road, where a vehicle had veered into the woods—fortunately, no one was inside at the time.
Around 10:45 a.m., eight bags of garbage were reported dumped in a ditch along Rustic Drive, prompting a littering investigation. Officers later handled multiple abandoned 911 calls, one of which turned out to be someone interrupted during Easter dinner.
Later in the afternoon, deputies responded to a report of trespassing and theft on Range Line Road, where a sprinkler system had allegedly been stolen. Meanwhile, a vehicle lockout in Wittenberg and another disabled vehicle near Tower Lane were resolved without incident.
By evening, a theft was reported at Ho-Chunk Casino, involving nearly $94 in stolen tickets. Officers also attempted to serve a warrant at the Shawano Walmart, believed to involve a suspect sitting in a vehicle.
As night fell, the department responded to a harassment call in Wittenberg, where a terrified woman was reportedly being followed by a male suspect. Officers intervened at a nearby Shell station.
The night ended with a couple of patient transfers from the county jail to the ER—both involving chest pain complaints—and a stray animal report near Range Line.
