KESHENA, WI- The Menominee Tribal Clinic has disclosed a cybersecurity attack that targeted its servers around Christmas.
In response, officials acted swiftly by suspending affected systems, notifying authorities, and engaging third-party cybersecurity experts to address the breach. Efforts to assess the situation and restore the clinic’s networks are ongoing, including implementing necessary software updates.
As of now, the clinic has found no evidence that patient or employee data has been compromised. Additionally, officials report that no other tribal systems outside the clinic, including those of the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin, appear to have been impacted.
Full restoration of the clinic’s systems will take time, prompting temporary modifications to some patient services. The clinic is committed to keeping patients informed about service availability through updates on the tribe’s communication channels, including the daily e-newsletter, MITW app, and the Menominee Tribe’s Facebook page.
