SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to exercise caution on Shawano Lake due to rapidly deteriorating ice conditions, following two incidents near the Kellogg (Maders Circle) landing.
Officials have advised against using the Kellogg landing to access the lake, as a large open-water area has formed approximately 75 yards offshore and reported two incidents that recently took place.
Warm temperatures Friday further compromised ice safety. Colder air to start this week is also expected to make an impact. Safety remains the top priority as changing weather continues to pose risks on the ice.
