SHAWANO, WI- Shawano High School has a new record-holder in its girls basketball program. Leah Nordin has officially surpassed the legendary Christi Burden’s long-standing record of 1,168 points, setting a new benchmark with 1,172 points—and counting. Burden had held the record since 1989, making it a remarkable achievement for Nordin, who is still only a junior.
This historic milestone highlights Nordin’s exceptional scoring ability and her consistent performance over her career. Known for her versatility on the court, Nordin has been a key player for Shawano, contributing significantly to the team’s success season after season. Her ability to score in a variety of ways, whether driving to the basket, shooting from the perimeter, or sinking free throws, has made her a constant threat to opponents.
Nordin has 1,235 points coming into Friday night’s game against Xavier, where she will be officially recognized for her accomplishment.
