TOWN OF LAKEWOOD, WI — A 15-year-old boy lost his life in an ATV accident Saturday night in the Town of Lakewood, according to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency responders were alerted to the crash at 8:17 p.m. near the 17000 block of West Wheeler Lake Lane.
Preliminary investigations revealed the teenager was driving the ATV westbound on a snow-covered surface when he failed to navigate a curve. The vehicle left the road, crashing into a ditch and striking several trees.
Family members and first responders quickly attempted lifesaving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
Authorities have not released further details about the accident. The incident remains under investigation.
