HORTONVILLE, WI- Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department says they have been made aware of social media posts indicating suspicious behavior involving victim woman in recent days, but the victims have not reported anything.
“We are aware of several social media posts indicating female drivers have been approached by subjects in pickup trucks who then threaten the women with a gun,” according to a Facebook post on the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department page. “We have not received any credible reports of these incidents.”
They indicated that they do not believe the reports to be credible given the lack of any information, but they do have increased patrols in the area as a precaution and anyone who knows anything so sees anything suspicious should report it.
TCH Daily News.com was notified of two social media posts, one indicating that there have been a couple of circumstances of trucks pulled over to the side of the road that are targeting females driving alone in the Hortonville area. According to the post, the women are being chased down the road if they do not pull over.
Both the Hortonville Police and Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department say they are aware of the posts.
