SURING, WI- Suring Superintendent Paul Orlich has announced his retirement, effective Dec. 31, after serving the district since August 2022. The news was shared during the Suring School Board’s meeting on Oct. 9.
Orlich brings over 25 years of educational experience to his role, having served in various capacities, including superintendent, high school principal, director of special education, and special education teacher in districts such as Mishicot, De Pere, and Green Bay.
During his time in Suring, Orlich worked with Sheriff Todd Skarban to bring a full-time school resource officer to the district, enhancing the partnership between the district, county, and local law enforcement.
One of his key accomplishments was overseeing the development of the Suring Market and Agricultural Center (SMAC), a unique combination greenhouse, learning center, and marketplace. Set to open later this month, about half of the project’s cost has been covered by fundraising and donations.
The district will begin searching for Orlich’s replacement in the coming weeks.
