OMAHA, NE- Kansas City Royals Triple-A manager Mike Jirschele has been named International League Manager of the Year.
Jirschele led the Omaha Storm Chasers to a franchise-record 89 wins and their first International League title, finishing the season 89-59. The Storm Chasers clinched their first postseason berth since 2014 and set team records in opponents’ average (.242) and doubles (287).
Jirschele, who has spent 33 seasons with the Royals organization, is the winningest manager in Storm Chasers history with 1,152 victories.
