SHAWANO, WI- Sacred Heart Catholic School students and staff were dressed in orange for National Orange Shirt Day- Every Child Matters. This event is deeply rooted in Native American Boarding School history and was an opportunity to bring awareness and education on the effects of residential schools and their legacy with students. It honors the experience of Indigenous Peoples, celebrating their resilience and affirms a commitment that every child matters. It also emphasizes a commitment to inclusivity and respect for all. Sacred Heart Catholic School encouraged all students and staff to wear an Orange Shirt on Monday to signify their support of anti-bullying and kindness to all efforts and to honor the history of this day’s origins.
