Week 2 of the High School Football Season kicked off on Thursday.
Wrightstown 57, Shawano 0
The Tigers put on a dominant performance, limiting the Hawks to just 20 passing yards and 48 rushing yards while racking up 399 yards of offense. Wrightstown built a 22-0 lead in the first quarter, led by Aiden Humphreys with 118 yards on 13 carries and Cameron Schumacher adding 81 rushing yards. The Tigers’ offense was in full swing, scoring touchdowns on seven of their eight drives, with the only miss coming on a turnover on downs. Marcus Brezgel was Shawano’s top performer with 73 rushing yards.
Kimberly 35, Bay Port 14
The Papermakers dominated the ground game with 244 rushing yards on 34 carries, setting the pace in their victory over the Pirates. This game marked Kimberly’s season debut after their Week 1 matchup was canceled. Marcus Doucette led the charge with 131 yards on 13 carries, including a 91-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage.
Coleman 22, Bonduel 20
The Cougars came out strong and held off a late rally by the Bears to secure a nonconference win. Micah Kuchta led Coleman’s offense with 24 carries for 155 yards and a touchdown. Kolton Peters added 75 rushing yards and a score, while West Bieber chipped in with 61 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Bonduel’s offense was driven by Cade Johnson, who threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns.
Kaukauna 35, West De Pere 31
Kyle Kress’ 3-yard touchdown run with 54 seconds left and a clutch defensive play by Will Clark helped the Ghosts secure a thrilling win over the Phantoms. After Kress’ touchdown and Linkoln Xiong’s extra point, Kaukauna led 35-31. On West De Pere’s next drive, quarterback Chris Greisen launched a deep pass to Brock Story, who sprinted towards the end zone after catching it at the Kaukauna 34.
