
Isla M. Zingler, age 95, of Town of Waukechon, passed away on August 3, 2024, at Oak Haven Assisted Living in Shawano. Isla was born May 12, 1929, in Clintonville, a daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret (Wing) Rosenow. On February 10, 1945, she was untied in marriage to Leland Zingler at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of Waukechon and she was also employed at Spurgeon’s Department Store in Shawano. Isla loved having holidays with the family, dancing polkas and waltzes, playing cards, putting puzzles together, and taking Sunday drives with her family. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano and enjoyed listening to their sermons on the radio in her later years. Her life revolved around her faith and family. Her husband Leland preceded her in death on July 8, 2012.
Survivors include her three children, Donna (Greg) Pufahl of Twin Lakes, WI, Vicki (Mark) Schroeder of Shawano, WI, and Michael (Ruth) Zingler of Shawano, WI; five grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Schlender of Wild Rose, WI, Kelly (Tim Benkowsky) Shanahan of Williams Bay, WI, Loretta (John) Van Asten of Twin Lakes, WI, Roberta McNutt of Racine, WI, and Tera (Clay Tomashek) Schroeder of Green Bay, WI. Isla is further survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mavis (Earl) Riesenberg, and brother, Kenneth (Marcelene) Rosenow. A private funeral service for close family members will be held at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials in Isla’s name to St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano.
