
Jeffrey Charles Kirchner, aka “Gentleman Jeff”, age 62, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at his home on July 20, 2024. He was born on May 29, 1962, to the late Jerome and Maxene (Kushman) Kirchner in Green Bay. Jeff graduated from Pulaski High School in 1980 and attended the University of Bemidji. Jeff was in the ROTC and worked for Wilson & Haberdasher Clothing in Green Bay before starting the fine men’s clothing store, Gentleman’s Quarter, of Shawano in 1991, until retiring in 2019. He later taught a specialized business class at Shawano High School through the Junior Achievement program. After many years of courtship with Sarah (Mitchell) Davis, the two married on August 18, 2018, at the Legend Lake Lodge, in Keshena. Jeff was proud to have been the president of the Shawano Chamber of Commerce and was very active in the Shawano Ruff Grouse Society. He always looked forward to pheasant hunting and Canadian fishing trips. Jeff especially enjoyed his elk hunting trip with his best friend Lon. He cherished being able to spend time and relax out at the Legend Lake lot. Overall, Jeff prioritized his family and friends and loved all of them, which always included his dogs (Koalton and Izzy). He will always be remembered as a wonderful father, beloved husband, caring grandfather, loved brother, and loyal friend.
Jeff is survived by: His wife, Sarah; his children Jacob Kirchner, Jessica Kirchner, Leah (Jed) Roffers and Ashley Davis; his grandchildren, Leo, Samuel, Roman, Audrey, Lexi, Conrad “CJ”, Vander, and Chael; his sister April (Micheal) Moran. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents Jerome and Maxene.
A funeral service for Jeff will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Zion Lutheran church with pastor Scott Ludford and Rev. Dennis Nelson officiating. Visitation will begin on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm, and again on Tuesday at the church from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be held at Lake Drive Cemetery following services.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospice nurses Creation, Katie and Nicole for their care of Jeff. They would also like to thank the Oncology Team at Madison and the following doctors for their many years of care, Dr. Steven Howard, Dr. Robert Hegeman, Neurosurgeon Dr. David Niemann, and Dr. Benjamin Schlais.
