Joseph James “Joe” Huebner, born January 3rd, 1964, in Burlington WI, peacefully passed away after a year-long battle with cancer at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital in Menomonee Falls, WI, on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024. Joe was comforted by loved ones in his last days as we said goodbye to a very special brother, son, uncle and nephew. Joe had the kindest and most beautiful of souls whose smile brought sunshine into every room.
Known for his caring heart – he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Joe had an amazing sense of humor and would make jokes often with his sideways smirk and twinkle in his eye. From a young age, Joe displayed a remarkable gift for art, particularly in his drawings, and found joy in constructing model cars – He LOVED cars…especially his cherished Monte Carlo! His passions extended to music and avidly listened to KISS (the band), enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, and took great pride in being independent.
Raised in Shawano, Wisconsin, Joe later settled in Green Bay, WI. Joe knew the city well and loved his bike – biking everywhere!! Despite modest possessions, Joe never complained of lacking anything, and took great pride in what he DID have. This is a man who took what God gifted him and made the most of it! Joe loved his family and would send handwritten letters to them in droves – he quite literally has written thousands of letters to loved ones throughout the years. Joe had a strong faith and enjoyed reading the bible often – interpreting it in his own unique way – often with a whimsical twist, making you smile. Joe’s faith, along with his upbeat and positive
outlook on life, aided him greatly during challenging times.
Survivors include Joe’s loving mother, Bernice (Kriescher) Huebner of Shawano; sisters, Jenny (Brian) Humblet of Eau Claire and Terri Huebner of Merrill; brother, Tom (Julie) Huebner of Sussex; and special nieces and nephews, Nichole (Nick) Doemel, Jarod (Amy) Huebner, Nora Huebner (Erin Papapetru) of Green Bay, Jace (Brittney) Kortbein of Eden Prairie, Mitchell Kortbein of Eau Claire, Jordan Humblet of De Pere, Jacob (Meyhlou) Humblet of Eau Claire, Lucas Humblet (Mallory Mitchell) of Minneapolis, Taylor Huebner, Bailey Huebner, Rowan Huebner, Ryker Huebner, Lillian Humblet, and Ellie Humblet. Joe is also remembered fondly by numerous aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends. Preceding Joe in death are his father, Marlin Huebner; brother, Paul Huebner; and grandparents, Edward and Emma Huebner, and Henry and Frances (Pavlat) Kriescher.
