SHAWANO COUNTY, Wis. – On June 26, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Shawano County dispatch center received a 911 call from an individual who discovered a motorcycle in a ditch and an unresponsive male in a nearby field at the intersection of County Road E and Lodge Road.
Deputies and EMS were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, CPR was in progress, but the driver was pronounced dead due to his injuries. The victim was identified as a 50-year-old male from the Pulaski area. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was the sole occupant of the motorcycle.
Initial investigations indicate that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on County Road E, approaching a curve at Lodge Road. The driver failed to slow down in time, causing the motorcycle to enter the ditch, lose control, and flip multiple times.
The crash remains under investigation, but authorities believe alcohol may have been a factor. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family, and no further information is currently available.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Shawano Ambulance, Bonduel EMS, Cecil-Washington Fire Department, and the Shawano County Coroner’s Office.
