SHAWANO, WI- Shawano County officials and the Shawano Hockey League have agreed on a new three-year seasonal lease for the Crawford Center, starting this fall. The public property committee approved the lease on June 13, following months of negotiations.
Adam Gafner, president of the hockey league, noted the need for a longer lease to secure sponsorships.
Previously, the parties had five-year agreements, but a one-year lease was used for 2023-24 due to the county’s uncertainty about the building’s future.
At the meeting’s end, it was revealed that an anonymous potential buyer for the Crawford Center had lost interest in the purchase.
