
Elmer E. Hehner, age 95 of Marion, passed away on Friday morning, May 24, 2024 at his home.
Elmer was born in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County on February 27, 1929, the youngest son to the late Henry & Marie (Schneider) Hehner. He attended Marion High School and worked at the Marion Body Works until 1950 when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. After basic training at Ft. McCoy, Elmer served his country as an engineer while stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge, he resumed employment at Marion Body Works. After working as an engineer, he played to his strengths and opened a television repair business in 1958; and in 1962 purchased the Uttomark Furniture Store, operating it as Hehner’s Furniture and Television. Elmer sold the building to Marion State Bank and retired in 1983. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion and a charter member of the Marion Lion’s Club. He also was a member of VFW Post 8770, Big Falls, and American Legion William Bertram Post 198 of Marion. Elmer has volunteered many hours through these service organizations in the Marion community and was proud to call Marion his home.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mathilda Hehner; and his brothers, Louis, Arey, & George Hehner.
As per Elmer’s wishes, no formal services will be held and his ashes will be scattered privately.
