SHAWANO, WI- An Appleton resident found himself in legal trouble after being arrested on suspicion of his fifth Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) offense in Shawano County.
The incident unfolded shortly after 8 a.m. on Tuesday when Wisconsin State Troopers and Shawano County deputies were dispatched to respond to a crash reported on Lodge Road in Cecil.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials detected the odor of intoxicants emanating from the 36-year-old driver involved in the crash. Following standard procedures, the driver was subjected to further investigation, leading to his subsequent arrest for OWI, fifth offense.
The identity of the arrested individual has not been disclosed at this time, pending formal charges and legal proceedings. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and the events leading up to the arrest.
