GILLETT, WI- Todd Carlson, a former Gillett School District Superintendent, has returned for an interim role, with an expected duration of about one month. Dr. Wayne Johnson, previously hired as interim superintendent in late 2022 due to Todd Hencsik’s medical leave, assumed the role after Hencsik’s passing in May. Following the Gillett School Board meeting on Feb. 15, Carlson shared that Johnson is on a personal leave and will return around mid-March. Johnson is anticipated to serve until the end of the fiscal year when newly appointed superintendent Nathan Hanson is set to take over. Carlson, who retired in 2020, had previously served as superintendent from 2013 and returned for an interim role in Suring two years ago. He expressed enjoyment in reconnecting with the school, staff, and students during this temporary stint.
