
Norman C Fischer 86 of Marion passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at home. He is now with his Heavenly Father in eternal life.
Norman Clarence Fischer was born on September 19, 1937 at home in Marion, the son of the late Clarence and Hazel (Beyersdorf) Fischer. He grew up in Marion and was united in marriage to the late Shirley (Kuehl) Fischer (1940-2019) on September 20, 1959 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. Norman served in the armed forces from 1955 to 1963. In high school he was an excellent athlete in basketball and football. He worked for a silo company, Marion Body works for 41 years, was Fire Chief for 9 years, served as alderman, and was an active member in the Lions Club and Marion Pond Association. Shirley and Norman loved to go bowling, but fishing was his passion. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, feeding the birds, and waging war on his squirrels. Norman was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion. You could find him watching Polka Polka regularly and he looked forward to cheering on the Green Bay Packers each Sunday.
Dad had a special place for all his buddies; especially Lyle Mikulski, Jeff Hesprich, Harry Schmidt, Blondie Elandt, and Arlie Bork, and the time they spent at Kangaroo K’s. Many memories of great times. A plaque is displayed with some of them today at Kangaroo K’s.
Children: Kim Fischer, Karie (John) Orvedahl, Kent (Bonnie) Fischer, Kalene (John) Thoma, Korey (Audrey) Fischer, and Kyle (Maggie) Fischer.
Grandchildren: Matthew Orvedahl, Jacob (Megan) Orvedahl, Nathan Orvedahl, Kayla (Brent) Lambie, Sheena (Brad) Langner), Coleman, McKenzie (Nate Laude), Conner Thoma, Kourtney Fischer, Brody (Rachel) Fischer, Kal (Monika Spencer) Fischer, Leighten (Ben) Gustchow.
Great Grandchildren: Elyse, Ava & Boe Orvedahl, Barrett Lambie, Olivia Langner and baby boy Gustchow February 2024.
Siblings: Karen (Richard) Blahnik, Cassandra Fischer (Randy Skinkis}, Melanie Miller (Rick Mielke).
Brother/Sister-in-laws: Jerry (Shirley) Kuehl, Joyce Tagliapietra, Theresa Kuehl, Judy Vyse, Debra (Larry) Sprotte
Also many nieces & nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Sister and Brother In-Laws Violet (Lloyd) Thede, Myra (Glenn) Schmidt, David Kuehl; daughter-in-law Jackie Fischer, a set of infant twin brothers, and a nephew Todd Thede.
Norman’s Memorial Service will be held Wednesday December 20, 2023 at 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion with Rev. Mark Ziemer officiating. Inurnment will follow at Roseland Cemetery in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30am until the time of service.
