
Bonita J. “Bonnie” Moede, age 89 of Shawano, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, November 4, 2023, at Oak Haven in Shawano where she had resided the past four years. She and her husband spent her first year there together, before he passed away on April 9, 2020. Bonita was born January 15, 1934, in Shawano, a daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor (Forsberg) Strelow. She attended school in Bowler, graduating from Bowler High School with the Class of 1952. On May 2, 1953, Bonnie was united in marriage to Stanley “Gus” Moede in Bowler. She worked at CRI-Genex as a secretary for over 32 years, retiring in 1999. Bonnie is a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. She enjoyed shopping, reading, golfing, traveling, and spending winters in Orange Beach, Alabama. Bonnie loved following her grandchildren’s athletics, rarely (if ever) missing a game.
Survivors include her children, Randall (Karyn) Moede, Todd Moede, and Lisa (Stephen) Acra; her grandchildren, Cari Beversdorf, Christopher (Molly) Moede, Ryan Moede, Samantha (Jerrit) Kunschke, and Riley (Brandi Fisken) Acra; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Rayna, Ada, Alice, Hadley Jane, and Baker Stanley; her brother-in-law, LeRoy Buettner; her daughter-in-law, Rita Moede; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, and her sister Doris Kerstner.
