Curtis L. “Curt” Busch, age 55 of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, August 8, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Curt was born February 22, 1968, in Shawano, a son of the late William (Bill) and Erika (Kuespert) Busch. He was a student at St. James Grade School followed by Shawano High School, graduating with the Class of 1986. After high school, Curt
was employed at the Shawano Leader, WI Film & Bag, Inc., and most recently as a body shop technician. Curt was known as a man with a heart of gold and a very caring person who looked
out for his friends and family. If you needed something he was there for you. If you needed a ride, he’d be there to pick you up in the best car he had. Curt wore his heart on his sleeve. He was a great hugger, and always had huge hugs for anyone who needed one. Curt was down to earth, strong willed, and above all a loving man. He loved fast cars, hot rods, Harley Davidsons, and rock and roll music. Curt was fearless, racing cars on the airport runway and jumping bonfires on four wheelers at the Frank Farm.
Survivors include his sister, Brigitte (Gary) Busch of Mosinee; his brother, William (Tricia) Busch, Jr. of Shawano; his friend, Kara Jameson and daughter, Lulu Jameson, both of Shawano; his nephews, Scott, and Cody; his nieces, Allison, and McKenna; and several aunts and uncles. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Thomas Busch.
A funeral service for Curt will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:30 am at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Moira Finley will officiate. Visitation will begin Friday, August 18, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Service and continue Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.
