Rita Ann Rusch, age 82 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, August 5, 2023, in Shawano. Rita was born July 30, 1941, in Shawano, a daughter of the late Leonard and Amelia “Emma” (Zeman) Doran. She graduated from Shawano High School. On November 12, 1960, Rita was united in marriage to Dennis Rusch at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. She was employed as a bookkeeper for many years. Rita is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved to crochet, knit, bake, cook, and can vegetables.
Survivors include son, Jeffrey (Heather) Rusch, of Powhatan, Virginia; daughter, Jodi (Tim) Beno, of Ledgeview; grandchildren, Kayla (David) Diamond, Kyle Rusch, Nick Beno, and Wyatt Rusch; and great-grandchildren, Tyrell, Aaliyah, Adalynn, Maya, Maverick, Kaylinn, and Kyliee. Rita is further survived by her sister, Patricia Rusch, sister-in-law, Sheila (Roger) DeBaker of Rothschild; brothers-in-law, Jack Rusch of Shawano, and William (Sherry) Rusch of Little Chute; many nieces and nephews and special niece, Annette Druckrey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; son, Jay Rusch; daughter, Jeanne Rusch; sister, Elaine Schoenborn; sisters-in-law, Gail Rusch and Patricia Schultz; and brothers-in-law, Robert, Neil, James, Sheldon, and Charles Rusch.
Funeral services for Rita will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Deacon Todd Raether will officiate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 am and continue until the hour of service.
