Nancy Ann Lueck, age 85 of Shawano, walked into the arms of her waiting Savior on Sunday, June 18, 2023, while residing at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay. Nancy was born in Tustin, Wisconsin on July 25, 1937, a daughter of the late Laurence and Margaret (Greening) Hansen. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Shawano. Nancy attended Shawano High School and met a quiet, handsome guy from the neighboring town of Clintonville by the name of Robert Lueck. It was true love and the two were married in 1955. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Shawano where they raised their family. Robert preceded Nancy in death on April 10, 2016. Nancy worked at the DuPont Bakery in Shawano, then as a cashier at the National Tea grocery
store. She also spent many years working at IGA and Red Owl in Shawano. She went on to work at CRI before retiring. Nancy had an irresistible smile and genuine care for all her customers. In
turn, many people she met became long lasting friends. She had a deep love for her family and friends. Nancy’s passions were gardening, cooking, and entertaining. She was listed in several
garden walks which highlight the most beautiful gardens in the Shawano area. Nancy’s cooking talent has been passed down to all her children. She loved to surround herself with people who
enjoyed laughing and telling real life stories while enjoying the excellent food she made. Nancy never wanted to be the center of attention yet made sure everyone she came in contact with was well cared for. If there was something you liked to eat, chances are you’d find it on your front porch that same day. Likewise, if you needed help with anything from painting to clearing the brush she would show up and start working. Nancy was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, where she served with the Tabitha Society for many years.
Survivors include her four children, Kathy (Ronald) Torznik of Green Bay, Brian (Kathy) Lueck of Nashville, TN, Barb Lueck of Milwaukee, and Sandra (Brian) Stanton of Sobieski, WI; her
grandchildren, Luke LaViolette, Angela (Nathaniel) Gueths, Melissa (Martez) Thomas, and Travis Beilfuss; her great grandchild, Malia Thomas; her sister, Beverly Fink; and her brother, David Hansen.
A funeral service for Nancy will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Andrew Zobel will officiate. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 and continue until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to Safe Haven in Nancy’s name. Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements. Please share online condolences at www.mickelsonfs.com.
