COMBINED LOCKS, WI- Police have released the name of the 9-year-old Outagamie County girl who was killed while attempting to cross the street Friday.
Officers say Mackenzie Van Eperen was struck by a semi-tractor at the intersection of South Washington Street and Wallace Street Friday afternoon.
The girls was taken to a local hospital where she later died from the injuries that she sustained. The Wisconsin DOT was no enforcement action has been taken against the driver, identified as 59-year-old Brian Du Frane of Kaukauna. They say Du Frane remained on scene and worked well with the investigation.
The investigation continues, but speed was determined to not be a factor.
