Sandra “Sandy” Buch, age 78 of Tigerton passed away Monday evening, December 26, 2022, at Homme Home of Wittenberg.
The former Sandra Lee Packer was born on October 5, 1944, in Iola, Wisconsin, to the late Clarence Packer and Dorothy (Roloff) Rasmussen. She graduated from Iola High School. Sandy was united in marriage on December 15, 1962, to William Alfred Buch in Ogdensburg, Wisconsin.
Sandy was primarily a homemaker throughout her life, raising three children in Tigerton with her husband of 60 years, William Buch. She also babysat, worked on a potato farm, and was employed at Eagle Knitting Mills. She had a green thumb growing various plants, flowers and gardens. If she planted it, it would thrive. She canned amazing dill pickles, with the grandkids arguing over who’d get the garlic piece from the jar that tasted just like the pickle!
Sandy had a great sense of humor and was never afraid to tell you how it was. She always made sure her cookie and candy jars were full for anyone who might pop in. She enjoyed cooking and never would provide the exact measurement to replicate her recipes since she just “knew” how much to sprinkle or toss in.
Grandkids enjoyed their visits watching cartoons, playing with the toy animal collection, and Grandma always bringing out the new crayons/markers and coloring books that she picked up when at the store. She also liked playing Crazy 8’s with her grandkids and would never admit to their accusations she always won, so she must be cheating! Grandkids never acted up at Grandmas either, since she let them know she’d toss them into the basement where she kept Sophie, her “pet alligator”. She also had many dogs and cats throughout her life. Her most loved was her dachshund, “Snoop”.
Sandy was a wonderful and unique woman whose sass left a mark with anyone she chatted with. She will be greatly missed but definitely not forgotten.
Survivors include her husband, William; and three children, Joann (Dean) Lehman of Antigo, William (Jennifer) Buch of Tigerton, and Alfred (Monica) Buch of Wausau. There are 15 grandchildren: Heidi (Darrell) Carlson, Megan (Ben) Tech, Brittany (Josh) Krueger, Noah (Alina) Lehman, Jamie (Joseph) Caple, Amanda Buch, Clara Buch, Mickayla (Dustin) Brempell, Brandi (fiancé Kyle Mikula) Buch, Benjamin Buch, Courtney (Cory) Streich, Taylor (Jonah) Hunt, Erin (Mitchell) Elandt, Logan Buch, and Sydney Buch. She is further survived by 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy (James) Kersten and Mary (David) Menge; one brother, James (Dorene) Packer; and many other relatives and friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Packer; her mother, Dorothy Rasmussen; stepfather, Clayton Rasmussen, and brother-in-law, James Kersten.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 5th at 2:00 PM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, with Rev. Clifford Kessen officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff at Homme Home.
