NORTHEAST, WI- Right after the holiday weekend, gas prices continue to drop. Prices in Green Bay have fallen 14.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.12/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 127 stations in Green Bay.
In Appleton area, prices are $3.01/g, down 24.7 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.26/g.
The statewide average is $3.14, which is down 19.1 cents from last week.
“As millions of Americans hit the road for Thanksgiving, we saw gasoline prices continue dropping coast to coast last week, and a new record was set for the largest single day decline in the national average. In addition, 47 of the nation’s 50 states have seen diesel prices falling as well, providing well-needed relief ahead of the holidays and helping to stem the rise in inflation,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
He says it is possible that the national average could fall below 3 dollars a gallon by Christmas.
