
Rose M. Jarvais-Davis, age 82 of Wabeno (formerly Bear Creek) passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at her daughter’s home.
The former Rose Maryanne Fields was born on March 16, 1940, at home in the Town of Maine, Outagamie County, to Myron and Violet (Stilen) Fields. She grew up in the Bear Creek area and attended Clintonville High School. Rose was united in marriage on April 4, 1959, to LeRoy J. Jarvais at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. The couple were blessed with five children, and she cherished the time spent taking care of her family. Rose also did some seasonal work at the Shiocton sauerkraut factory; was employed part-time at Fleet Farm in Clintonville; and worked for some time at the Goodwill Store in Grand Chute.
Her husband LeRoy preceded her in death on March 3, 1995. Rose married again on September 17, 2000, to Donald R. Davis. Rose and Don lived in Bear Creek until they moved up north in 2014.
Rose was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she had been helped with the Annual Sauerkraut Festival for many years. In her early days, she was a part of every St. Mary’s School activity when her kids were growing up. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting, especially making afghan blankets. Her other interests included collecting angels, completing crossword and jig saw puzzles. Rose will be remembered most as a strong willed and independent lady.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Don; and five children, Joe (Kris) Jarvais of Bear Creek, Patty Keeney of Shawano, Dave Jarvais of Bismarck, AR, Bill (Brenda) Jarvais of Bryant, AR, and Nancy (Leonard) Fager of New Mexico. There are 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother, Clarence Fields of New London; her two dogs; many other relatives and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two grandchildren; and a sister-in-law.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Fr. Simon Minyati will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
Our family wants to thank all the doctors and nurses at Marshfield Clinic for the wonderful care provided to Mom. We also wish to extend a special thanks to all the nurses with Bristol Hospice for the love and support given to our family.
