SHAWANO, WI- Students, staff, and parent volunteers at Sacred Heart Catholic School-Shawano, held their annual Leaf Raking service project on November 3, 2022.
Anessa Bantle and Libby-Wojnowiak- 7th Grade
Students in grades 4K though 2nd raked around the school and parish campus. They also raked Father Scott Valentyn’s backyard. The older students bussed to six off-site homes. This annual event is an opportunity for students and staff to give back to the community and parish members who support the school in various ways.

It was a beautiful day to work hard and make others happy. Volunteering like this provides a healthy boost to Cardinal student’s self-confidence and self-esteem,” Director of Admissions and Development Autumne Gee said. “Service work helps these students in many ways by doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment.”

When they were done raking they took some fun time to play at parks, jump in leaves, and just be silly together!
