APPLETON, WI- A man who was accused for stealing gold coins has been convicted. 38-year-0ld Travis Burrell entered a no contest plea in court on Tuesday. He was convicted of being party to retail theft with value of more than $10,000.
It was determined that Burrell entered Voecks’ Fox Valley Coin and Diamonds back in March and after asking the employee to take the coins out so he could see them, he grabbed the coins and ran out the door. Police report an armed security guard followed Burrell and shots were fired at the vehicle.
He is scheduled for sentencing on December 22.
