WEEK 8 GAMES TO WATCH
BAY CONFERENCE
Shawano (1-4) at New London (1-4)
Last week Shawano was playing for a share of the conference title, this week, they are fighting for survival. The loser will officially be eliminated from playoff contention. Shawano’s Jerzy Brocker is the leading passer in the conference after starting the season as the backup quarterback. The Bulldogs have only scored 9 times this season, five against Seymour. They are led on the ground by Aiden Lopez who has scored 6 of the teams 9 touchdowns.
Waupaca (2-3) at Seymour (0-5)
Waupaca looks to keep their playoff hopes alive as they travel on the road to winless Seymour. The Comets have been turning it on as of late. Parker Krcmar has been one of the Conference leading passers and rushers.
Xavier (3-2) at Winneconne (2-3)
Xavier can win a share of the conference title with a win. The Hawks dominated Shawano in Week 7 and have won three straight games. Quarterback Nate Twombly has 904 rushing yards and leads the conference. Xavier also locks up a playoff spot with a win.
CWC LARGE
Amherst (5-0) at Manawa (2-3)
Amherst needs to win to keep their conference title hopes alive. After losing their first two games, the Falcons have won five straight games.
Shiocton (2-3) at Nekoosa (1-4)
Shiocton can keep their playoff hopes alive with a win on the road. The Chiefs were defeated by Wittenberg-Birnamwood 34-19 but continue to find ways to put points on the board.
Stratford (5-0) at Spencer Columbus Catholic (0-5)
The only thing on the line here is Stratford staying unbeaten heading into their game with Amherst next week.
Weyauwega-Fremont (2-3) at Wittenberg-Birnamwood (3-2)
The Chargers are in the playoffs with a win. Weyauwega-Fremont has lost three straight games after starting the season 4-0.
FVA
Neenah (5-0) at Kimberly (4-1)
This is still a huge matchup, but Kimberly’s 31-21 loss to Fond du Lac last week may have come as a surprise to some, and stopped the battle of the unbeaten, but it may add more of a chip on the Papermakers’ shoulder. Neenah has rolled along unbeaten this year behind a strong rushing attack where Jase Jenkins and Evan Vanevenhoven have combined for just shy of 2000 yards.
Appleton East (0-5) at Kaukauna (3-2)
Kaukauna is in with a win.
Fond Du Lac (3-2) at Appleton North (3-2)
Last week’s upset of previously unbeaten Kimberly was huge for Fond du Lac, giving the Cardinals a much better chance of qualifying for the playoffs. In fact, the winner of this week’s Fondy-Appleton North game clinches a postseason spot, while the loser is still in decent shape.
Oshkosh West (1-4) at Oshkosh North (1-4)
FRCC-North
Bay Port (5-0) at De Pere (3-2)
After a rough 0-3 start, De Pere has recovered to put itself in position to clinch a playoff spot with just one more league win. Standing in the way this week is unbeaten Bay Port.
Pulaski (3-2) at Green Bay Southwest (1-4)
Pulaski is in the playoffs with a win.
Ashwaubenon (2-3) at Sheboygan South (1-4)
Green Bay Preble (0-5) at West De Pere (5-0)
FRCC- South
Green Bay East (1-4) at Manitowoc Lincoln (2-3)
Menasha (5-0) at Sheboygan North (3-2)
Notre Dame (4-1) at Green Bay West (0-5)
North Eastern
Denmark (3-2) at Freedom (4-1)
Freedom looks to bounce back from their first loss of the season. Denmark can be the fourth team from the conference to make the playoffs with a win.
Fox Valley Lutheran (3-2) at Luxemburg-Casco (2-3)
Both teams started off hot, but FVL has lost two straight while Luxemburg-Casco has dropped three consecutive games. This is a huge one playoff purposes for both squads. The Foxes are in with a win.
Little Chute (5-0) at Wrightstown (4-1)
Little Chute has taken control of a deep and talented North Eastern Conference, but Wrightstown can throw some chaos into the mix with a win, which could force a three-way tie heading into the final week. Both teams are already in the post season.
Northwoods
Clintonville (3-2) at Coleman (5-0)
Coleman is marching towards another Northwoods Conference title, and with the news this week that the Cougars may actually remain in Division 7 after all, where they finished as state runner-up, there’s certainly a lot going on in Coleman. They do have a challenging closing schedule with Clintonville and next week at Crandon.
Crandon (4-1) at Oconto Falls (3-2)
The Cardinals are hoping to have a shot at a share of the conference title next week, but that only happens if they beat Oconto Falls, who is in the playoffs with a win.
Crivitz (4-1) at Northland Pines (0-5)
Packerland
Kewaunee (5-0) at Southern Door (5-0)
These teams have been on a collision course for a while, both sitting at 5-0 in the Packerland Conference. It is a similar situation to last season, when they were each undefeated in league play heading into a Week 9 showdown. Kewaunee won that one 33-0, and a week later shutout the Eagles again in Level 1 of the playoffs.
Oconto (1-4) at Marinette (0-5)
Peshtigo (1-4) at Bonduel (3-2)
Bonduel is in the playoffs with a win.
Mishicot (2-3) at Sturgeon Bay (3-2)
Sturgeon Bay is in the playoffs with a win.
8-Man Football
Almond Bancroft (3-3) at Port Edwards (4-2)
Marion/Tigerton (2-4) at Tri-County (2-4)
Bowler/Gresham (0-6) at Newman (6-0)
Oneida Nation/GB NEW (0-6) at Gibralter (6-0)
Sevastopol (3-3) at Algoma (4-2)
Lena (5-1) at Gillett (2-4)
Suring (2-4) at Wausaukee (2-4)
