APPLETON, WI- An Outagamie County judge has ordered a new competency evaluation for a 20-year-old man found guilty of killing his grandparents. Alexander Kraus faces sentencing on two counts of first-degree intentional homicide. He can’t be sentenced until he is declared competent. Kraus will stay at the Mendota Mental Health Institute until his next hearing May 23rd. Letha and Dennis Kraus were shot to death in 2019 at their Grand Chute home. Investigators say they found a red folder with his typed-out plans for the double murder in the home.
