BOWLER, WI- The leader of the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribe in Shawano County is scheduled to give this year’s State of the Tribes address to Wisconsin lawmakers. Shannon Holsey will give the speech at 1:00 p-m February 22nd. The Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council selected Holsey for the task. The address has been given at the Capitol since 2005. It is an opportunity to give the 11 federally recognized Native American tribes in Wisconsin a chance to discuss issues with the Legislature. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has called the annual event “an important tradition.”
