DE PERE, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network) – Officials with the De Pere Fire-Rescue Battalion say frigid temperatures complicated their efforts to battle a fire at a multi-family house Wednesday night. It was reported that the temperature was about eight degrees and the wind chill was about five below at 8:15 p.m. When aerial sprays were used the water was freezing on the firefighters’ equipment and clothing, slowing things down. The house was evacuated and some of the residents were injured. One person was taken for hospital treatment. Three adults and two children in two units were displaced and helped by the American Red Cross.
