Man Charged With Hiding A Corpse

OSHKOSH, WI- Winnebago County prosecutors are charging a Fox Crossing man with hiding a woman’s corpse.  A police detective following up on a rumor about the woman found a body wrapped in a tarp in 44-year-old Eric L. Averbeck’s basement.  Averbeck said he found the woman dead of an overdose and he admitted he wrapped her in the tarp.  Later, it was determined she had died four days before she was found.  If he is convicted he could be sentenced to 12-and-a-half years in prison.
