GREEN BAY, WI – A former Suring village official has entered a guilty plea to child abuse charges. Thirty-seven-year-old John Fredenburgh entered the plea to the charge of traveling interstate with the intent to engage in sexual activity with a minor in federal court Friday. He faces anywhere from 10-to-30 years in prison when he is sentenced next March. Fredenburgh also faces state charges when he returns to court in July. He has entered a not guilty plea in that court. In addition to serving as a village trustee, Fredenburgh also worked as a substitute teacher and a human services worker for Oconto County.
